Acquisition and Procurement

In order to carry out their missions, all government agencies need to acquire key assets and systems. One of the most important charges of any government agency is being a responsible steward of taxpayer money. This charge is especially important in a time of increasing costs and restricted budgets. In order to effectively carry out their missions while maintaining this sacred trust, Federal agencies require robust acquisition and program management processes. Establishing, implementing, and continuously improving these processes is a key priority of the federal government.

Acquisition support is an OCT Consulting core competency. OCT supports 16 Federal agencies with cradle to the grave acquisition support. This support includes both “Big A” acquisition at the strategic level and “Little a” acquisition focused on managing the acquisition package. At the “Little a” level, OCT Consulting provides support for the U.S. Coast Guard’s Office of Contract Operations and Office of Procurement Policy and Oversight. This support includes non-inherently governmental work in the pre-award phase as well as contract management and closeout. At the “Big A” level, OCT Consulting provides critical support to the State Department acquisition process by helping coordinate the work of the Enterprise Business Review Committee (EBRC), a review-board set up to improve the governance of large dollar ($500M+) procurements.
