Cybersecurity

As the world becomes ever more interconnected, security in the cyber domain is increasingly critical. Risks in this domain have also been increasing with denial of service attacks, ransomware, and data breaches. The risks are especially acute for federal agencies who require large amounts of data to complete their missions and whose systems contain significant quantities of personally identifiable information (PII) that they have an obligation to protect. Between 2014 and 2022, data breaches cost local, state, and federal agencies an estimated $26 billion. Preventing cyber-attacks and limiting the extent of the damage is a key priority of the federal government.  OCT Consulting works to support a diverse set of federal stakeholders as they seek to turn this strategic priority into a reality. One of the ways OCT does this is by providing critical support to Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) as they work to coordinate organization-wide IT risk management activities. OCT works with ISSOs at several agencies to ensure Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance. OCT experts also help conduct assessments of security controls, perform penetration testing, and produce annual risk assessments for interagency partners. By doing so OCT Consulting enables its clients to meet their mission while actively managing emerging risks.
