IT Modernization

IT modernization is crucial for the federal government as it enables the adoption of new technologies that enhance efficiency, security, and overall effectiveness in delivering public services. Outdated IT systems can impede government operations, leading to inefficiencies, increased costs, and vulnerabilities to cyber threats. Modernizing IT infrastructure allows for streamlined processes, improved data management, and a more user-friendly experience.

OCT Consulting utilizes a holistic approach in supporting federal agencies in modernizing their IT systems. This support includes helping with the drafting process for the business, functional, and system requirements for designing the new system as well as assistance with the actual acquisition process itself. For example, OCT experts worked with the Federal Occupational Health (FOH) component of the Program Support Center (PSC) at the Department of Health and Human Services to assess the shortfalls of the existing systems and formulate what was required in the new system to improve workflows at the agency. This work was critical in improving outcomes at the FOH. OCT Consulting also worked with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on a needs assessment for upgrading their information infrastructure and subsequently supported CISA in the acquisition process for building that new system.
